About Us
Founded in 1979, LiveOn NY first grew out of a coalition of senior service organizations seeking to share best practices, create systemic change, and improve the lives of older New Yorkers. From this group, LiveOn NY was formally established as a not-for-profit organization, then known as the Council of Senior Citizens and Services.
Today, LiveOn NY is recognized as a leading voice on issues related to senior services and aging in New York City and throughout New York State. LiveOn NY's membership includes more than 100 community-based nonprofits that provide core services which allow all New Yorkers to thrive in our communities as we age, including senior centers, home-delivered meals, affordable senior housing, elder abuse prevention, caregiver support, NORCs, home care, case management, and more. With our members, we work to make New York a better place to age.
Our Mission
LiveOn NY represents the diverse network of nonprofit organizations that help older New Yorkers thrive in their communities. Through advocacy, mobilization and coalition building, we advance systemic change to ensure that New York is an equitable and inclusive place to age regardless of wealth, racial disparities and other barriers.
Our Vision
LiveOn NY envisions a New York where all older adults have the resources they need to age in community and enjoy a high quality of life in later years.
