What: A two day training series for Directors of congregate aging service programs (Older Adult Centers & NORCs). General topics include: Reframing Aging 101; Context of the Older Adult Center Ecosystem in NYC; NYC Aging Standards and Best Practices; Successful Engagement with Older Adults; Introduction to Active Listening and Empathy; Working with Clients Under Difficult Circumstances; The Importance of Investing in Mental Health for Yourself; Marketing and Promoting Programs; Creative Programming Ideas; and Civic Engagement.  We will also have 2 guest panels: a panel of representatives from NYC Aging and a panel of experienced Older Adult Center Directors. 

When: Two day course. In person. Wednesday February 28, 2024 and Wednesday March 6, 2024 from 9:30-4:30pm.  

Where: LiveOn NY 49 West 45th Street, 7th Floor NY

Cost: $175 for the two-day training. CEs for licensed social workers will be offered for a portion of the training.
