Topic: Hearing Loss and Older Adults: New Apps, Resources, Tips & Low-Cost Tech
Speakers: Carolyn Ginsburg Stern, Director of Outreach and Strategic Initiatives, Center for Hearing and Communication; Michele DiStefano, AuD, Director of Audiology, Center for Hearing and Communication
Description: Hearing Loss is a common issue impacting a third of older adults age 65 and older. When unaddressed, hearing loss is associated with an increased risk of social isolation, depression and cognitive decline and puts a strain on communication. Join us for an informative session covering free apps and new resources that can help you make your programs, events, and conversations more accessible and inclusive for older adults with hearing loss. The session will also cover information about the new category of over-the-counter hearing aids — what you need to know and who will benefit from them.
