Roundtable Share-out: Serving Clients in a Hybrid Space
Facilitator: Shyvonne Noboa, Division Director for Senior Services | Sunnyside Community Services
Description: Working with clients is always both rewarding and challenging, but the last two years have been particularly difficult. Clients and workers are navigating the "new normal" of their relationships within the confines of a hybrid environment, making it necessary to deal with issues and conflicts in a different way. Join us for our next Boots on the Ground Roundtable when we will have a discussion to reflect on our role and share resources on how to de-escalate conflict in a hybrid space.
To prepare for this discussion, here are a few things to consider:
How would you describe the mental health of the older adults you are serving?
How is this impacting interaction between the older adult and worker in the physical/virtual space?
How would you describe your experience (frustrating, anxious, uncertain, etc.) in serving older adults during the pandemic?
What are the challenges you are experiencing in facilitating hybrid programs?
What solutions have you or your colleagues employed to address de-escalation in a hybrid space?
Safe Space Session:
Let’s actively listen and be patient to speak.
Be respectful of what is being said and how to say what is on our mind.
Sharing is a way to grow and connect together.
