Two Advocacy Opportunities
Currently the City Council's aging committee is working to understand the impacts of recent budgets on services as they relate to the Community Care Plan that was released under DeBlasio. We encourage all of our members to testify as to their experience with current budget levels and how it has impacted their ability to serve their constituents.
Below are two ways that you and your organization can continue to advocate in the next several weeks:
Testify at the Community Care Plan Hearing on Monday September 23rd at 1:00 pm:
Find our Testimony Toolkit here! You can use this toolkit to develop your own testimony and let your voice be heard.
Capital Needs Press Materials: We are still making the case for capital investments across the aging service system and we need your help to drive the argument home. We are looking for photo or video of issues with physical infrastructure in centers or other programs that the city has refused to fund repairs for. We can keep these anonymous but we need more evidence that capital funding is needed and this will go a long way in making that point. Please send any to kkiprovski@liveon-ny.org
