LiveOn NY's Virtual Citywide Participatory Budgeting Idea Generating Session for Older New Yorkers

Description: The New York City Civic Engagement Commission (NYC CEC) has launched New York City's first citywide Participatory Budgeting process. For the first time, New Yorkers throughout the five boroughs will be given the power to directly decide how $5 million of public funding should be spent. Funding will be spent on projects voted on by New Yorkers and may include a variety of programs, services, or events proposed by residents. Numerous idea generating sessions will be held throughout the five boroughs during the fall of 2022. Then, the process will culminate with a citywide vote on these community-vetted projects in the spring of 2023.
